Yesterday- Day 5 of work experience. And it's over! I'm relieved I'll have more time now to study and look for jobs in the industry, but also a little sad, it was fun and I learned a lot!!! I'll miss some of the animals I saw the most. :S Anyway, yesterday involved lots of paperwork, cleaning, and the world's craziest beagle. Oh gosh. I had never met a beagle before and I don't want to meet one again! It managed to get it's plastic cone off it's head, and somehow break out of its metal cage...how, nobody knows! Of course he managed to hurt his paw in the process, leaving blood covering the floor and halfway up the walls. He destroyed a bunch of other cages too. Talk about destructive!!! Even the Vets were surprised at how crazy this animal is! He then barked all day, and it took 2 of us 10 minutes to get him back in the cage after a walk. Horrible! I think I now prefer cats...
Today, had class. Lots of listening...some good news for me: when being a Vet Nurse, it is ok if I cry. It's more of a problem if you're NOT emotional and sympathetic. That's a relief because when animals suffer or die, I can't not cry! Last night's episode of RSPCA rescue had me bawling for quite a while after it.
Hmm...then did grocery shopping, and came home. Decided to give Ruby fresh pineapple juice now...she's molting a lot, and has a very sensitive digestive system. Molting can cause fur balls, blockages and constipation in rabbits, which Ruby has been showing early signs of, so I syringe fed the juice to her. When we got to the last few mls I decided to film the cuteness of it, hence the above video. :) She's a really good girl, most wouldn't sit still and accept it that easily :) She made up for it later though, by peeing in the wrong part of the cage again. *Sigh.*
