Conversations with an old guy...

I probably mentioned, my Mum's father (my Grandfather, Opa) recently got out of hospital after 9 months, and came to live with us.
During his hospital stay, maybe because of the trauma, or medication...he became kind of strange in the cute way that some old people do. This included telling me I look great (in all seriousness), and I should "wear that dress more often", when I was wearing a plastic gown and hair net to visit him in the ICU, and him calling a male nurse a "handsome young thing."
We're glad to have him home with us now, but man...sometimes we have some strange conversations!!!! There was the fight about pancakes that I'm gonna try to forget, and the time I was arguing with my parents and he interrupted to randomly tell us that when he was 20 he used to make clothes out of rabbit fur, and a few conversations we had at dinner last night....

Opa: I think I should try to live another year.
Me: Um. Ok. Why don't you try a lot more years. You have to make it to 100.
Opa: 100?
Me: Yes. I'll be 47 then.
Opa: Oh. Maybe you'll die first.

Mum: Do you want to watch the football?
Opa: Yes.
Opa: I've already seen this game.
Mum: No you haven't, Dad, it's live.
Opa: I saw them score that try before. I have definitely seen it.
Mum: That's not possible. They're playing right now. David and Matt even went to watch the game.
Opa: Maybe they played at lunch time.
Mum: No, Dad, they're playing now! Right now!
Opa: No, I don't think so....

And it went on for about 10 minutes. Sooo hard not to laugh! :) I love him though :)
